Book Drive for the Intergroup
There will be a book drive to raise money for the Intergroup and the Activities Committee at a
date to be anounced. Right now we are just trying to get books collected for the drive. They can be any
type of book, not just recovery related.
Please drop off any books you would like to donate at the Intergroup Office.
THANKS!
As of January 2008 the Intergroup Committee Requests that all groups update their registration.
Your Intergroup office and committee are making a serious effort at updating our current meeting
schedule to remove the groups that no longer meet and to correct the groups who have changed meeting places or times.
Of course to actually know who has changed and who hasn't, we must have registration forms from groups that have not
changed also. We ask that you help us by filling out the group registration information using either the registration form
that was included with the 1st quarter newsletter or the registration form here on our web site. Our meeting schedules
are primarily for AA's who are visiting our area, have just moved here, and new comers, so please join in this 12th step
effort to keep everyone well informed.
Intergroup Representatives Still Needed
As of January 2008 the number of Fort Smith area groups
with representatives attending the intergroup meetings has increased and we thank you for your
participation! However, there are still many groups without representatives attending. The intergroup
comity meets on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 6:30pm in the First Presbyterian church basement, Fort Smith.
We encourage all groups to elect a representative to attend and make your input known to the comity and to
report back to you about what's going on.
Transportation Needed
We get lots of calls at the intergroup from members in need of rides
to meetings. We recently sent out signup sheets for drivers
willing to pick up these members.
These sheets all came back blank.
With enough drivers in various parts of the Fort Smith area,
no one would have to go very far out of their way,
and most riders are willing to chip in what they can for gas if you ask.
So lets try to be more service oriented toward those without a lincense
or without a car. After all, it's part of our 12th step.
Please let John know that you are available.
Fill out service form for transportation.
